If we can’t accurately identify you on signing up, even if your Credit Score is above our minimum, you may still get an error message. This can be caused by a mismatch between the name on your licence and the name you entered for your Zip application, an incorrectly keyed in date of birth or issues with NZTA's services at the time of your application.
If this happens, we will need to either reset your account so you can reapply, or verify you manually. You can be manually verified with other photo ID forms* along with a selfie holding your chosen form of ID. Simply follow the prompts on how to do this when you are signing up.

Please note, Manual ID verification can take up to 48 hours at peak times but our team will get to it as quickly as we can.
*We will need to see the front and back of the NZ driver's licence you entered in your application initially before proceeding with other forms of ID.
