We understand that you may get a new mobile number or email address, or even want to change the name on your account, to reflect a legal name change.
These changes can now be made directly in the Zip app or online customer portal.
If you're trying to update your personal details and receive an error message about your email address or mobile phone number already being in use, it means that we already have an account in our system linked to your details. Please look at this article for details on how we can assist you with this.
Mobile number update
- Tap Account
- In the Update Contact Details section, tap Phone
- Unlock using your biometrics or 4 digit passcode
- Enter your new mobile number, and tap Continue
- You will be sent a verification code via SMS to your new number. Enter this code to complete the update
Email update
- Tap Account
- In the Update Contact Details section, tap Email address
- Unlock using your biometrics or 4 digit passcode

Enter your new email address, and tap Continue

You will be sent a verification code to your new email address. Enter the code here to complete the update
Address
Please note, if you need to change the delivery address for an online order you've paid for with Zip, you will need to get in contact with the retailer directly. Changing the address on file with Zip does not impact the delivery address for any of your Zip orders.
- Tap Account
- In the Update Contact Details section, tap Address
- Search your new address, or enter it manually
- When you've found or entered your address, tap Update to complete the change
If you're unable to access the Update Contact details feature just yet, check your app store for updates. If this update is still not available to you, please get in touch with our team here and we'll take care of your profile changes for you.
Name Change
You can change your preferred name/nickname on your account via the Update Contact Details menu in your account. Please be aware that it is not possible to transfer the account ownership to another individual.
To change your legal name, we will need to do this manually. Please get in touch with our team here, including the following details:
- Name (previous and new name)
- Date of birth
- A photo of your ID in your new name
- A selfie holding your ID next to your face in your new name
- Supporting documentation in the case of a name change, e.g. a marriage certificate or updated birth certificate.
Payment card changes
You can update your debit/credit cards yourself via the app or the Zip customer portal.
