Fraudulent Charge / Unauthorised Order
If you discover that a purchase or charge was made in your name that you did not make or authorize, you can file a claim by contacting the Zip Customer Experience Team here.
Identity Fraud / Theft
Zip Co NZ Ltd takes many steps to prevent identity theft. However, if you suspect someone has used your ID (Drivers Licence, Passport, 18+ or Kiwi Access Card) without your permission to create a Zip Co NZ account, you may be subject to identity theft.
Identity theft occurs when someone obtains credit using another person’s name.
If you believe this has happened to you:
- Contact the NZTA to cancel your Drivers Licence
- Ask all the credit reporters to freeze (suppress) the credit report and place a fraud alert on it by contacting Centrix, Equifax and Illion
- Notify your local police station
- Contact ID care for more support
For more information about identity theft, see the Department of Internal Affairs identity theft website for examples and a checklist to use in the case of suspected identity compromise.
