You can set a default card on your profile and this will remain the default card for all of your Zip payments.
However, if you choose to make payment for a particular order instalment with a different card, this will become the default card for that order. Any time you set the default card on your profile after that point, the profile default card will be used for all payments for all orders currently in progress, and all future orders (unless an alternative card has been selected for an order's first instalment).
Example:
There are 2 cards loaded for payments on your Zip profile. Card 1 has been set as the profile default card, and you confirm Card 1 as the payment card for an order's first instalment. All future instalments for that order will be charged to Card 1.
Card 1 | 123456........78 01/24 | Default | All instalments for this and other orders |
Card 2 | 987654........32 11/23 |
Unless:
1. You make a manual payment for the second instalment on that order with Card 2. All future instalments for that order will be charged to Card 2, but Card 1 will remain the default for all other payments.
Card 1 | 123456........78 01/24 | Default | Instalment 1 for this order, all instalments for all other orders |
Card 2 | 987654........32 11/23 | Instalment 2, 3, 4 for this order |
OR
2. You set Card 2 as the default card on your profile after making payment for the first instalment on Card 1. All future payments on all future orders will be charged to Card 2.
Card 1 | 123456........78 01/24 | Instalment 1 | |
Card 2 | 987654........32 11/23 | Default | Instalment 2, 3, 4 for this order, all instalments for all other orders |
To reassign Card 1 back to this order, you would need to make a manual payment for the order using Card 1, OR set Card 1 as the default card on your profile again.
If you haven't selected any card as the default on your profile, payments will automatically be deducted from the card you used for the first instalment on each order. This can be changed in the same way as the above example, by making a manual payment or setting the default card on your profile.
